The Firefox addon Easy Copy has all kinds of parameters you can include with the selected text, including the date.

I’m using it to add the URL and title in Markdown format to selected text.

I’d recommend CHS - Clipboard Help & Spell, from DonationCoder.com
A brilliant piece of information management software, it has been the proverbial answer to a maiden’s prayer for me and has some superb built-in features and functionality that differentiate it from most other clipboard utilities.
Just some examples:
* It can keep all your text and image clips in its database, and record meta data (e.g., date, time, URL or other source of clip), and can past that out with a clip if you require.
* It can also aggregate lots of clips into one if you want, for export or pasting.
* Search is by text strings and it has an SQL filter behind the scenes if you need to collect your data into groups based on certain strings, dates, sources, etc.
* VERY flexible and unobtrusive in use.
