My experience is similar to Steve’s. I had high hopes for Whizfolders. Which were more or less achieved. Like the developers of IdeaMason, WhizFolder’s developer gets it, understands what’s needed from a writing environment. It’s full of the minor details which allow you to concentrate on the work rather than on fiddling with the application. And, unlike IdeaMason, WhizFolders is fast, comes up as soon as it’s needed. But it dominated my screen. I thought I’d get used to the way it looks, the “rows and rows of tool bars”; I didn’t. And so I went back to NoteMap/MS Word.
