just a heads up ... google has done a "ground-up" rebuilding of their spreadsheet webapp. Here's a brief video:

It looks to be a lot more powerful now - with previous limits on number of columns/rows removed.
I've long been impressed with its filtering capabilities. From time to time I've explored the use of spreadsheets for general information management purposes. You can really do a lot with the formulas.
