ECCOext vs. SQLNotes

Just wondering if someone familiar with current state of these programs can give a comparison of the new features and future prospects.
I used/loved ECCO Pro in it's day, and still use it occasionally - now that there appears to be further progress on the design, which would be the best choice to invest time learning (again).
