Citavi is indeed a well thought-out application, but I really don’t see how the new features justify calling this a major version update. In a product like MyInfo this would represent a one decimal increment at best (then again the MyInfo developer is particularly generous with updates).
By the way, I own a license to v.3 but I do not use it. If transfer can be arranged with the agreement of the Citavi vendor, I’d be happy to give it away to anyone here who has a good chance of using it and wants to upgrade to 4 (or even stick with 3 for that matter).
A brief explanation: like Cassius, I’m cutting down on the number of tools I’m using. For me, the urge came as I’ve started using Linux more and more and want my toolbox to be as multiplatform as possible. Citavi, like IdeaMason in the past, was purchased within the context of supporting my—rather sporadic—academic efforts. As it happens, my generic tools have proved to be good enough for such work when required, and not needing to learn new ones can be surprisingly gratifying.
