When I purchased my iPad a few years ago, I installed Readdle at the recommendation of a few folks here in the forum. I noticed that Readdle launched a major update/revision to their app last month, and I held off on updating it because there were some initial complaints. Has anybody updated to the new version? If so, how does it compare to the previous version? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

ReaddleDocs - as it used to be called - has been updated to ‘Documents’, which is even better than before. The look has been streamlined, which is initially slightly confusing, but the decisions all make sense, and the overall speed of the app has been ramped up considerably.
It remains - without any doubt - my preferred ‘do-it-all’ file management app on the iPad. The fact that it has a built-in text editor (and does PDF markup too, of course) is simply the icing on the cake. The sensible synchronisation method (whereby anything you open on a remote network, e.g. Box, Dropbox or Google Drive, is automatically copied over to your local iPad repository) makes it superior, in my view, to the native Box/Dropbox/Google Drive clients.
Finally, the new version is currently free! So yes, I would strongly recommend.
Cheers,
Bill

Thanks, Bill. There was some grumbling in the app comments when the new version was first released, so I wanted to check before losing the older version. I wonder if it is possible to have both on the iPad at the same time, jut for comparison purposes?

Nice idea, but sadly not - Docs replaces ReaddleDocs (and takes over all its settings, so it’s not all bad). They’re both very similar, it’s just that the interface in Docs is simpler and in many ways more logical. I found I adapted to it very quickly and vastly prefer it over the (already very good) ReaddleDocs.
