Thanks again Alexander!
You can then archive the PDFs in UltraRecall in folders, by
>customer, and flag them according to the state (fullfilled, sent,
>paid…)
nice idea!
>- Use a programme with features more suitable for building a customer
>database; I suggest you try out http://brilliantdatabase.com/
Thanks for your advice. Prevents me from running in the wrong direction, maybe.
I’ll take a look at that, though i would prefer something in german language.

Hi, I’m a little late to this topic.
I was in the same situation as you about 1.5 years ago, and I chose Ultra Recall. It has served me well, and I have customized it to no end.
Having said that, I am now converting to Zoot XT, and I could have saved myself a lot of conversion time if I had chosen Zoot in the beginning. The main reasons are 1) Zoot has a mail client, so processing email and tasks is so much easier. In UR, I was syncing mail and folders which takes a long time after the amount of content increases. 2) Zoot allows linked items to any existing item. This is a colossal time saver and makes cross referencing rather easy. The associated reason to move to Zoot is that tasks can be quickly created and organized, while in UR with Outlook I was facing limits on what I could accomplish.
I will post more in the “Zoot???” topic. This isn’t a shot at UR - in fact I still find it incredibly useful - just that Zoot serves my particular needs a bit better.
Best, /Pavi

Thank you Pavi.
Though i appreciate your advice very much, it is - well, mybe too late ;-)
as i dont feel too enthusiastic in going through a process of trying and learning a software
like UR or Zoot again. Not at the moment.
The important factor which could change my mind is, how much of my ‘wishlist’ i wrote down in my
first post would be capable to accomplish with Zoot.
Maybe you would like to read over it again.
I post it here again:
Importing folders with their structure being reflected on the tree
Importing doc, txt, websites (html), pdf, must be indexed (searchable), optional jpgs
Exporting to rtf, doc html, pdf
Sync/Only export new/changed notes (maybe selected via tags), if possible in the original folder, import only new notes. What I mean is I want to keep the original folder in sync with the tree structure in the software.
(hyper)linking to other notes, documents and websites
Working with two computers on the data
tagging or priority or to-do
Optional:
Preview of pdfs and search results.
Show the search results in context.
Web-clipping (liked that very much in RightNote, when copied not only the raw text is imported but all the links worked for example. But maybe thats the normal case)
Contact form in the note, when the data fields could be exported
——————————————————————————————————————————————————-
I have this problem with UR at the moment, which i also posted here:
http://www.kinook.com/Forum/showthread.php?p=20255#post20255
When i capture a webpage into UR, i cant sync it to the folder on my harddisk.
The manual is clear about it as it writes:
“Note that if an Info Item listed in the search results already has a valid, populated URL attribute value, the Info Item will be synced to this
existing location and not to the location specified by the Search Info Item’s URL attribute. To export the search results to a specific location, instead use the Export Wizard.”
This is a heavy drawback for me.
If i would use the the Export Wizard i would have to do it bit by bit and could not just export all the newest items or changed items,
as i would have to specify the data type and the folder in the Export Wizard.
Does someone have an idea how i could circumvent this?

Thank you!
