So, Resophnotes ( http://www.resoph.com ) has an update.
I can’t say for certain, but it feels faster. It also now lets you specify a global hotkey for New Note rather than just opening the program.
The changelog states that there are a bunch of improvements to Simplenote syncing, though that’s not a feature I’m using so I can’t really comment.
Also, search now supports AND and OR operators.

Thanks for the heads up. The site states “connects to new Simplenote server / Fix sync and connection problems”
I recently lost, for the second time, all my notes during a sync operation. Again, I can not tell whether it was ResophNotes’ fault or SimpleNote’s. Again, I restored all notes one by one from my Dropbox backups—someting I would prefer to not have to do again as my notes are growing in number.
I was therefore planning to make the RN/SN system redundant. However, I imagine that Simplenote’s “new server” might offer an explanation to the issue, so I’m willing to give this setup another chance. Let’s see.
