My own main interest is the one I recently mentioned, to have a “related posts” functionality.
Given the substantial legacy of previous years it should be something that can be applied automatically to older posts. Some ideas:
- Building on Chris’ idea: (manually) create an online list of applications discussed here; the list can then be used to index the forum. When we add a new app to the list, the forum should be re-indexed. Ideally ‘aliases’ for the names should also be possible, i.e. EN, UR, CT etc.
- Some other automatic word correlation among posts?
- When creating a post, before publishing (i.e. there could be some kind of saved pre-publish form), getting a list of “suggested related posts” that one can select to include as links below the post.

Alternatively one could be prompted to add a tag with the name of the software into a field on the posting form, and as one types, the list of already mentioned software could be activated to recognise the tag (this way typing mistakes could be avoided that would create duplicates), so one could just select a tag from the list (or add a new one). Once a tag would be selected, the post could be related to existing posts with that keyword.

I would love to see OutlinerSoftware work with Tapatalk: http://www.tapatalk.com/ . I love Tapatalk on my new Nexus 7.

Badge notifications for new messages to topics that have been posted in. (Most new forums are doing this.)
Google alert style for keywords. (If that’s not possible, popular search key words could also work.)

Searching within a search…a hierarchal search: Often an initial search displays too many posts. It would be nice if one could search within those posts using another search term.
