Question about column values in Ecco Pro

I thought there might be some experienced Ecco users in here, who would answer this: on a notepad, is there a way to change a column value for /multiple/ selected items? For example, having a pop-up column with values A, B, and C, is it possible to select a few items on the notepad (by holding down Shift or Ctrl) and then choose the value A for all the selected items at once? It would seem that the only change you can do this way is to mark or unmark items as Done… Thanks in advance.

There is a way: first, make sure the folder window is showing. Locate the folder for the column whose values you want to change. Next, select multiple items. Now, drag them to the folder column - a popup will appear (different popup depending on the folder/column type) and you can enter in a new value that will apply to all of the selected items.

I actually just remembered there is another way that may be better if it is a value you are going to be changing a lot or if you need to change multiple column values on multiple items frequently. You can set up a form that contains the values you want to change then view the items by the form - this will let you tab through and update multiple column values for multiple items in one screen.

Many thanks, this is very useful for me! /After/ learning how to do it, I must admit I should have been able to get there from info in the Help. But I’m not very experienced with Ecco and keep forgetting that, obviously, all columns are folders… Once again, my motivation to look for an alternative outliner vanishes (I recently tried the desktop version of Natara Bonsai, which is good at what it does, including filtering, but not too flexible).

Many thanks, both methods work perfectly!
