I feel entirely justified in including a reference to a wiki in this forum in view of the widely trumpeted popularity of ConnectedText! Those interested in internal collaboration may like to know that the Standard version of one of the simplest but most effective wikis ever devised, ProjectForum, is now selling at the very modest price of just USD 25.—(for a single workgroup but unlimited users). I can strongly recommend the software, which despite its very simple appearance (and ridiculously simple installation) is actually very powerful and supports extensive customisation. The pricing of ProjectForum has always been somewhat prohibitive (the Standard version previously cost $299!!!), but now it’s well into affordable country. ProjectForum can be found here: http://www.projectforum.com/pf/
It would be remiss of me not to mention two other major deals in the wiki world. First, Atlassian Confluence, which costs just $10 for 10 users, and is probably one of the most powerful corporate wiki systems (actually it’s more of a full content management system) ever devised. Not least because they’ve finally released it as an easy-to-install Windows version. You’ll find it here: http://www.atlassian.com/software/confluence/
And second: Kerio Workspace now comes absolutely FREE for UNLIMITED users (!!!) but with storage restricted to just 10GB. Still, that’s more than enough for a vast CMS (or an extensive personal note-taking system, if you prefer). Kerio has a unique file synchronisation system comparable to iCloud or SkyDrive, and is very easy to use. You’ll find it here: http://www.kerio.com/workspace/
For info, our in-house extranet is now based on Kerio Workspace (I’m tempted by Confluence, but haven’t yet taken the plunge; not least because Kerio is so easy to use…).
Enjoy!
Cheers,
Bill
