I like Zoot!
But I have a job to be done and I don’t have the time to migrate all my data from UR to Zoot so UR is still my information management tool.
I found a little workaround to simulate the smart folders from Zoot in UR:
Instead of creating a folder I am inserting a Search Item. Then I add the query (or rule) and save it. Then I mark the “Automatically start saved search when search item selected” in Tools -> Options -> Search/Reminders.

Dom, I think you have pointed out one of the strengths of URp. There are so many options that almost anything can be ‘simulated’ given some thought. And more is one the way. I also think Kinook is a solid company committed to developing & supporting a good product.
Of course, there are some things that UR doesn’t/can’t do like global search but, on balance, URp can do most things Zoot can do plus some extras so I think it’s a matter of weight, i.e. what’s important to you as a user.
At the moment I can’t suggest a fast way to export URp/Import Zoot as I haven’t tried it but I can report that importing data from Zoot into URp was pretty simple.
I’ve always found Zoot to be quite intoxicating on the one hand even @ 16 bits but @ the end of the day I needed something more & to date URp has been able to provide me with the best package.
Just my .02 on the subject of URp vs Zoot 32 @ the moment.
And BTW, ADM 4.88 is still available on their d/l site. What a shame that they missed the boat. I think there is more & more interest in a powerful all-in-one PIM. ADM had a good head start on an interesting approach & blew it big time for reasons I still don’t understand. What a waste.
Anyway I hope you are enjoying all those Swiss chocolates & not working too hard.
Best regards from an extremely hot Ridgefield, CT
