Off topic note: I just installed latest Firefox version and although it says that Conceiva's Download Studio is incompatible with Firefox 14 and Conceiva's Web site also says that it is incompatible with Firefox 14, IN FACT:
The latest version of Download Studio IS compatible with Firefox 14. (I just used it to download latest TreePad Business setup.)

Expanding the off-topic bit of your post, I must say that I find Firefox's approach in version numbering ridiculous to say the least (9 major versions since June 2011 if I remember well!)
What is not to be taken lightheartedly is that updating Firefox (reasonable in itself for security reasons) breaks many a good extension. Neville, Surfulater's developer, has given some hints about the nightmare for developers that this means http://blog.surfulater.com/2011/04/19/why-google-chrome-is-my-web-browser-of-choice/
Given the fact that many extensions are written by volunteers, I can very much sympathize with this viewpoint.

Alexander, I totally agree. In fact, someone from Mozilla just admitted within the past two weeks that it has been wrong to spin out so many updates to rapidly and cause the problems you discuss.
