FYI, Rational Plan which was briefly discussed in this thread will be featured on Bits Du Jour in the following days http://www.bitsdujour.com/software/rationalplan-single-project/

The promotion is probably for the Single project option again, but it is possible to upgrade to Multi afterwards, so you will still have a discount.

I'd not seen
it before. Many thanks, Alexander!

Achieve Planner Productivity Suite is 65% off today:
http://www.bitsdujour.com/software/achieve-planner-productivity-suite/

It's one of the more interesting project management tools that came up in this thread. This ended up as my third choice after Amode V2 and Rational Planner. There are lots of things to like about it but unfortunately it doesn't have a Gantt chart, which I needed.

Have used Plan for Windows http://www.twiddlebit.com/ and before it on a psion 5mx.
Find it easier to use than MS Project for most people, can handle middle size (used with over 1000 line items, multiple calendar/resources).

It seems that the Mindsystems website (http://www.mindsystems.com.au/ had yet another facelift, and Amode V2 is no longer available (even most of the knowledge base articles seem to have been removed). It's a pity because it works perfectly well in Windows 7 (for me, at least).

It continues to be my favourite project manager. I hope there will be a way to re-validate the license when I move to a new machine. I better contact them about that.

OK, I was wrong. You can still find the file and the tutorial files, if you dig around. However, there doesn't seem to be any front-end page, so it doesn't seem to be marketed in any way:

Just to update this thread, a front-end page for Amode V2 is now back up on the Mindsystems site:

Thanks for this. "Plan for Windows" is impressively nimble and I like the economical use of screen space. Its setup file is 1.1MB, compared to 26MB for RationalPlan Single or Amode at 23.5MB...
