Does anyone know if there is an easier (quicker) way to browse the posts in the Archive? There are 211 pages, so it's a bit tedious to navigate. Is it possible to download all the posts in a single text file?

I recommend against downloading the archive for the following reason: The originator of this forum complained when the then-existent archive was downloaded because it overwhelmed the university server that the forum used. I believe he cited that as one reason he decided to discontinue the forum.

If you log in, there's the option to download a text file of the forum messages. The link is on the green rail to the left. I don't know if it's up to date, though.

Unfortunately that text file doesn't include the messages of the Archive (1999-2006): http://www.outlinersoftware.com/archives

I think I have the file you are looking for in OPML and TXT format. If you wish write to my private address: subscriber at data dot pl and I can send one or both to you.

You can download the original archives OPML file from http://www.outlinersoftware.com/files/outliner-opml.zip

I could also export this to a text file in a similar format to the current forum's text file if there is any interest.

Thanks,
Chris

Thanks for that Chris. I downloaded the file but after unzipping it all I could find is a file named outlinerComMessages.root and I didn't know how to convert that to an OPML file. If it's not too much trouble, would you be able to put a link to the text file in the left pane, next to the other one? Cheers!

In the end I figured out that I need to have OPML Editor installed to read the .root file. However, I'm having a hard time figuring out how to word-wrap the lines in OPML (to which I'm new), so at the moment I'm having difficulty reading the actual messages.

Wojciech has been very kind to email me a text file for the old forum, but it seems that the messages are truncated in that one. So if there is a way to output the messages into a readable text format (like the one for the new forum), I'd be very grateful.

If you are logged in, there is now a link to the archived messages text file in addition to the active forum text file.

Thanks,
Chris

Excellent! Thank you very much for that, Chris!
