From the Bitsdujour newsletter:
“Tuesday, May 15: Ultra Recall - Everyone’s been asking us to get this wonderful program again, and we did! We’ve got a big discount on both the Standard and the Professional Editions, so don’t miss it! “

The discount is really nice, makes the pro version go for $39.

This is going to be a real acid test of my ability to resist the CRIMP compulsion.
I’ve already given UltraRecall a test drive, and came to the conclusion that I was still happiest with my 3-way ECCO / MyInfo / Notemap setup. Plus, I’ve decided that if MyInfo 4 did not live up to everyone’s hopes*, I’d likely be replacing it with OneNote as my general information dump.
(*And that “one week until the beta release” is stretching out a lonnnggg time!)
Yet people here speak so highly of UR, and 40 bucks is such a great price for the Pro version…
No, be strong, Bob. There’s only a few hours left to hold out!

Hehe…I admit same dilemma, and I lost.
Never liked the GUI of UR, and chosen MyInfo given the version 4 will be like it was advertised. But now that UR is 39 and MI 58 incl. VAT, my budget tight, MI4 nowhere to be seen, and UR people fixed all the runtime errors from previous versions and included FF plugin, ......and the geek part in me that wants to play with all those settings and functions and possibilities called in….it’s UR.
Speaking about MI, I know they are on the market for quite some time, 8 years probably, so no fears they will disappear, but there is one thing I was always wondering about. In 3 years that their forum is functioning, only 106 people ever subscribed and posted at least once. (The rest of the 5660 registered users are just spammers they don’t waste time deleting.)
Seems like a very small userbase, compared to the others. Well…maybe it’s just that good and simple to use that people just use it and don’t waste time discussing ;)
