I’ve looked at it with interest, but I already use the awesome MobileNoter, which is exceedingly well designed and runs on both iPhone and iPad, so to be perfectly honest I can’t see any pressing reason to move over to Microsoft’s own version (as a long-term user of Windows CE I have in any case always been underwhelmed by their tendency to underpower their portable software). If you’re on the verge of making a commitment, I’d strongly advise you to compare MobileNoter as well, in case you regret not doing so at a later, more irrevocable moment!
Cheers,
Bill

I’ve taken another look at Microsoft’s own OneNote client, and find that it’s optimised for (automatic) synchronisation with your OneNote files on Windows Live.
MobileNoter, on the other hand, synchronizes over WiFi/Bonjour (there’s also a slightly more expensive version that supports 3G and WiFi/Bonjour). You sync with the files you have on your PC (you can select them from a handy little menu when you set up MobileNoter). That includes files that are shared over the network (not a major issue, in fact, since OneNote effectively synchronizes those with all network share participants in any case). It’s a fundamentally different model.
The MobileNoter iPad client is a wondrous thing, and almost justifies the iPad on its own (although actually, I am a total fan of iWork on iPad, dude; the interface is astonishing…).
