I have had my android smartphone for over six months now, and for better and for worse, it is my pocket productivity tool. I can quickly check my e-mail accounts, my Google calendar (albeit I will most likely be using Pocket Informant android (PIA) as my client), and my toodledo account (via PIA or Got To Do). and while I greatly enjoy receiving reminders and notices by e-mail, I wish there was a way to either add a reminder/alarm to an e-mail message, or to add that message to my calendar where I can add a reminder/alarm. Yes, I can forward the message to Toodledo and then add the alarm there, but I was hopoing for a simpler set-up. I have searched the web, but have not found any solution. Does anybody have any simple suggestions that I should consider?

The iPhone mail app adds links to dates/times in email messages that you can click on to add an event to the calendar. Android doesn't offer something similar?

If it is offered, I have not yet found it. It seems like a "no-brainer" to be able to do this, but there a many things that I think are quite obvious in the world of smartphones that do not exist. Sometimes I wonder if any of these engineers or designers actually use a calendar (and that includes Apple as well as Google)?

A quick update. While I have not yet found the soslution that I was hoping to find, I did coem accross a number of web-based services that you can forward or send mail to and they will send them back to you on a specific date and/or time. I have not yet tried any of them out, but some of them are as follows:
