Ah, paper - the gold standard in modern day archiving! ;) This puts me back to square one! As I am expecting a pyramid of pages under pages that will need to be farmed out, I could do without actually seeing the entire web page if I could easily track the status of each page. This would allow me a number of options, including Ecco or Excel (as they grandfathered in my copy of Ecco since I have been using it since 1993), or something like LinkStash. Its not ideal in any way, but I am mostly concerned that this assignment is going to be like herding cats if I do not stay on top of things.
While I am still open to any suggestions, I want to extend a very big thank you to everybody who has contributed, been supportive and understanding of my situation, and tolerated a bit panic in my posts.
Thanks,
—Ken

Lucas,
Their FAQ was a bit confusing. It mentions both an installation as well as a bookmark. Than it also mentions an installation into the web browser. I was not certain if these steps were all required or optional. It was not the clearest of instructions.

A very brief update. After mulling my options and trying out various software over the weekend, I have decided to use MS Excel to track the pages. I believe that I could have done this in Ecco as well, but chose Excel. I am only 20% of the way into cataloging the pages, but can easily see over 100 pages when all of the linked pages are accounted for. I tried Surfulater, but I really needed some custom fields, and that is not yet available. I will post more when I make a bit more progress.

Now that you mention Excel and Ecco, I’m realizing that InfoQube could also probably handle the job quite robustly—- not sure why I didn’t think of it before. It can run off a USB and includes browser clippers. It’s complex and powerful and takes a little getting used to (plus it’s still in beta), but in my experience it has the most features and flexibility of any software of this sort. The forums are active and helpful, so you could see what the folks there think.
(Granted, it sounds like you’ve already gotten started with Excel so maybe you don’t want to switch at this point, but I thought I’d mention IQ here for the record.)

Lucas,
I has initially considered IQ for all of the reasons that you stated. but, I also rejected it for the reasons that you stated. In spite of my knowledge of Ecco, I never seemed to get the hang of earlier versions of IQ. It may just be a long learning curve for me, but the program did not seem easy to grasp at first blush.
