Amode V2 on offer during Oct

Got an email from MindSystems the other day telling me about an offer they have for people with licenses for other software such as MindManager - during Oct you can purchase Amode V2 for ?30 ($50). Some of you might be interested. At the normal price, I dismissed it, but on offer it is worth considering.

Well, I went ahead and took the plunge on Amode. I have a MindManager license, and that allowed me to take advantage of the ~$50 (US) upgrade price to purchase Amode V2.

I only made the decision after spending 5 days of trial time testing it out. Several key capabilities lead to my purchase decision:

1) The ability to use the outlining features to brainstorm key project areas.

2) Ability to create rich notes associated with each outline item.

3) Ability to link and manage task item dependencies.

4) Ability to view a project as an outline, a Gantt chart, or a calendar listing.

5) Powerful filtering capabilities to create custom views.

6) I really like the interface (apologies to Ian Goldsmid :-).... )

I really must admit that as I I look at the above items, you could say that a myriad of other applications do the same thing. And in fact it was a bit difficult for me to originally picture where Amode fit into my project management needs. But after spending a bit with Amode, I realized that alot of the capabilities of it take some time to uncover….

So for $50, I took the plunge today.

The upgrade from MindManager deal continues until October 30, so I just thought I would post a reminder to any other CRIMPers that might want to take advantage…
