Some worthy improvements to the Label (usually known as Tag) system. Labels have a tree hierarchy, and are displayed on a tabbed split within the note, rather than only in the modal maintenance window.
Each open note is displayed with a space-killing green banner; I trust there’ll be some way to remove it, but don’t see that yet. MB5’s nascent but useful database field system, used in “Export DB Records to CSV/XLS,” has not yet made its appearance in MB6. I’m hoping WJJ moves ahead to field-based searches. Version 6 looks like it has a long way to go before release.

I sent the myBase developers the following: “A number of features available in Version 5 and earlier versions appear to be missing in the Ver. 6 beta release. Will they be added in a later beta version?”
Here is their reply: “We’re trying to add the missing options, some of utilities will be
rewritten in the new JS/API for Unicode support. Thanks.”

I’m using the beta 6 as my regular outliner software now, sending them bug reports, their support is very good as they reply all emails.

(Here’s a question that really belongs in myBase’s own forum. It’s being held there for approval, but the most recent activity is from January 2010, so posts may just be piling up.)

I’d like to carry around some myBase data on a very basic cell phone, an LG420 with about a 1.7 inch display screen and arrow-button navigation. This device can display HTML and VNote files.
The phone and its browser are limited, so I’m hoping to be able to create an HTML output file that is more sophisticated than myBase’s built-in “Export Notes to HTML File” generates, but less complex than the “HTML Tree” or “Web Publisher” add-ons do.
“Export Notes” doesn’t use frames or Javascript, and puts all text output into a single HTML file. That’s ideal, and the file is easily viewed on the phone. But on a tiny screen the file needs some internal navigation. Every parent item should have links to children, and children back to parent:
Top Level
Link to Parent 1
Link to Parent 2
Link to Parent 3
Anchor/Header for Parent 1
Link to Top Level
Link to P1C1
Link to P1C2
Text of Parent 1
Anchor/Header for P1C1
Link to Parent 1
Link to C1C1
Text of P1C1
...etc. That way, we can locate and view items within the file at a couple of clicks, and easily return to higher and top level. The item names are sometimes too long for links, so the user could have the option to truncate at a maximum number of characters.
I’d appreciate strategies and suggestions. Do we have additional keywords to use in “exportnoteframe.html” and “exportpageframe.html”, the templates that are used by the built-in HTML export?

BTW, InfoQube has a hide/reveal HTML export that works superbly on this cell phone. But how to export a myBase hierarchy into InfoQube?

Does myBase support OML/OPML or tab-indented type exports ?
