There are a number of folk seemingly missing in action whose posts I used to enjoy, finding them informative and stimulating.
Aleander, Stephen Diamond, Graham, are a few names that come to mind. I am sure there are others.
I miss you guys.
Hope all is well with you.
Cheers,
Daly

Hi Daly,
There are a couple of Grahams on this forum, so I may not be the one you're missing, but I, in any case, am still here and still following the threads.
There are a few reasons why I don't post more, and this might be a chance to vent them:
1) I can read the threads but cannot post using my preferred browser, Opera. To post I have to log in using a different browser, so I'll usually only do so if I feel strongly about something.
2) I've always felt that this forum is more cliquey than I personally feel comfortable with. Some of my posts have been answered more dismissively than I like, and readers shouldn't have to spend time trying to find out what unexplained acronyms and terms like "CRIMP" and suchlike mean. Other users have been castigated for posting in the wrong thread, or in the wrong way, which I would prefer not to see, especially as I, for one, have never seen a guide on this site on how to post.
3) I decided I had better things to do in my life than move my data from one program to another as developers lost interest and something different turned up. So I'm sticking with just a few programs which satisfy 90% of my needs at the present time - Whizfolders, Evernote and Flashpaste.
But I do check out all the new versions which other readers post about! So, don't stop posting! Perhaps soon I'll be moving my data to yet another set of programs ... :-(

If it helps, Chris, I can log in in Opera but the "Post", Post Reply" etc. buttons do not appear in Opera.

Chris: correction. In Opera 9 the problem seems to have been resolved. Sorry for leading you up the garden path.
Graham. Again. From Opera this time!

Thanks, Graham. I will try it out. What version of Opera are you using?

Dear Daly et al,
Indeed, it's been quite a few months since I last logged in to the OutlinerSOftware forum or, for that matter, to any other of the forums I've been following over the last couple of years :-(
The reason is that since October I've moved to a sort of communications limbo area, which is nevertheless located only a few kilometers away from this country's capital, Athens.
It took 4 months to get our phone line installed and this is of a type (PCM - pulse code modulated, a line shared between many homes) that prohibits any kind of internet connection useful for my purposes; the highest speed I've managed to get was 28 kbps as far as I remember and that didn't last long.
I am not ungrateful though and definitely don't regret moving; the place is very beautiful, close to one of the few remaining forest lands in the wider Athens area.
Also, my office connection is fine and I have no problem professional communications-wise. However, as this is a very busy period, I have practically censored myself from non-professional acivity during office hours.
I now commute on a daily basis and so does my wife, so we get home more or less at the same time every evening; though my internet persona has suffered, the lack of connection has probably benefited my family life :-)
Hopefully by summertime the local telephone network will have been upgraded and I'll be able to do some more private work from home; in fact, I've just been accepted to the University of Liverpool's on-line MBA course ( http://www.ohecampus.com/ )
That's it for the moment; hope all is well on your side. It's nice to see that the forum is alive and kicking and I hope to be able to contribute from time to time.
All the best
Alexander
