I am by absolutely no means an expert in spreadsheets so I try to keep it simple.
Right now I have just the following fields:
Basic
* Program name
* Type (free, commercial)
* Version
* Release Date
* URL
* Active
* Description (simple)
Editor
* WYSIWYG (Y/N)
* Image support
Outline
* Import formats
* Export formats
* Hoisting (Y/N)
Full text search
* Boolean operators
* Special operators
As I said most users here in the forum know much more about the most used programs than me. Just add what you think is relevant. I will put it an spreadsheet. No only new fields but also information about programs.
Best regards,
Eduardo Mauro

Be sure to include the number of panes, OS (Mac OS X, Windows, etc.). You could also mention sorting, magnification (of the window), multiple selection, and localization (e.g. is there a Japanese version?).

In Editor section if could be useful to add info about the underlying format, i.e. is it plain text, rtf, html, or html with support of some pluggins to display math etc ...
