I recently tried to log into a thinklinkr (cloud-based outliner) account I had set up to try it out - no luck. I got the following email from Jason Tillery, one of thinklnkr’s developers:
We are in the process of shutting the site down. You can still access your data through the mobile interface. It’s read-only but it works. https://thinklinkr.com/mobile
Thanks for using the app,
Jason

I know I harp on this constantly, but this is exactly why I don’t like web apps or “The Cloud” and wish they would stop being considered the only way forward. There are many disadvantages but this is the biggest.
I can still use Ecco Pro, but if Thinklinkr was something I relied on, well, it’s gone just like hundreds of other web apps before it.

I totally agree. I think of Web apps as being analogous to the applications on servers that I once upon a time accessed through dumb terminals. A PC is a PERSONAL Computer—not a dumb terminal !
