Sumi: native Mac/iPhone outliner that opens Logseq markdown graphs (free beta)

Hi, I'm the developer of Sumi, a native Swift outliner for Mac, iPhone and iPad.

It opens an existing Logseq file graph as it is: a folder with pages/ and journals/, tab-indented bullets, properties. Nothing is converted or imported. Other tools that edit the same folder (a text editor, git, Syncthing, Logseq itself, but not at the same time) keep working.

What works today: daily journals, [[links]] and #tags, backlinks and unlinked references, block references and embeds, aliases, namespaces, properties, TODO/DOING/DONE with scheduled and deadline dates plus an agenda, templates, simple and advanced queries (with sort-by), full-text search, iCloud Drive or any Files folder. It stays fast on a large graph (I tested almost 10,000 pages across 16 public graphs, and open + save changed no file). Daily snapshots can be restored.

Not there yet: whiteboards, plugins, PDF annotation, .org files. It is an outliner for the Logseq file format, not a general-purpose outliner with its own format.

It is a free TestFlight beta. After the beta it becomes a paid app: EUR 2.99 per month or EUR 29.99 per year with a 14-day trial, or EUR 79.99 once for a lifetime license.

Good grief! I love the small footprint, but am struggling to check out the plethora of interesting outliners that have suddenly leapt out of the woodwork! Marvellous – on the one hand...

Nice to see an alternative to the sadly diminished LogSeq. Although I have to say, Tine is possibly the most awesome alternative I've actually tested in anger so far.

I just discovered an app named Tine (https://tine.page/ that claims to be a local, Logseq-compatible outliner.
Does anyone have any experience with this (besides MadaboutDana)?

Yes, I talked about it in the thread about Vellum. I use it every day. It's stable and fast.

Tine looks nice, but we're not really competing. Sumi is a native Swift app for Mac, iPhone and iPad, so it uses Apple's own text system, share sheet, Shortcuts and Spotlight instead of a web view. Both open the same Logseq folder, so you can use whichever fits you :)

Sumi does look very elegant, and if I was still operating in an all-Apple environment, I would be strongly tempted. But I use an Android phone and (increasingly) a Linux laptop (as well as a MacBook), so I'm going to have to banish my rampant inner CRIMPer and not succumb to Sumi... besides, I'm currently playing with Understory, which is also tempting me (despite the fact it's Mac-only), not least because of its amazing HTML output.
