It's that time of year again! 25% off some of your favourite CRIMPing software, including my own Hyper Plan and Easy Data Transform:

HyperPlan is my bill paying dashboard along with ad-hoc uses that come up. Easy Data Transform remains my primary rodent control when going after rogue appraisal districts.

The coolest thing - sort of - I'm getting out of HyperPlan is it's helping me identify companies that are sloppy with sending invoices.

I have a thing in my accounting I call the Deadbeat Vendor Program. It probably means I have too much unsupervised time on my hands.

If a vendor screws up in a particularly comedic way, I'll keep their account paid in advance as a defense and I'll send them a letter assuring them, bless their hearts, that I know they are doing their very utmost best. Nonetheless they are inescapably in the Deadbeat Vendor Program.

Amazing how often it happens and how often I'll get letters back protesting the deadbeat status, as if it meant anything in the real world.

Sad to see Nisus is no longer in the Winterfest event. I'm afraid that's appropriate, given the circumstances.

I have a list of deadbeat vendors who have been very late paying invoices. Including a world famous hotel and a world famous sporting organization. In fact it seems that the more famous you are, the less you feel you need to pay the invoices of the little folk even vaguely on time. No future credit for them - payment in advance only.

Wait a minute, that sounds like some of my customers!

On second thought, you can have them if you really want them. ;-)

I wrote an article about how it feels harder as an indie developer. it is partly a plug for Winterfest, but I thought someone might find it interesting:

Well said.

I like to track my scrimping. It's difficult. I have expenditures, ROI, planned purchases, and budgeting broken up across disparate spreadsheets, csv, and json files.

If only there was one unified tool for both numerical analysis and graphic rendition across mutually hostile data sources.

Oh, wait, late breaking news. Industry insiders say that's on the way.

Good to know.
