Some of you -- Daly are you reading this -- might get a kick out of this.
After Eric Sommer disappeared into the ether leaving a bunch of very agitated & disgusted ADM users in the dust, he appeared today as a 'suggested friend' on my facebook page. I was torn between sending him a 'what for' e-mail or just ignoring him. So far I'm just ignoring him.

Doesn't curiosity enter your deliberations, Jan? Is there a way to make accepting a Friend conditional on answering all questions? :)

As an 'agitated & disgusted ADM user' I find this news most interesting and would be very interested in hearing anything the good Mr Sommers had to say. I could lurch off into a lengthy rant at this point but I'm sure my remarks would be redundant. Suffice it to say that I was a very heavy ADM user and still have a lot of data stored in ADM files. I also feel that ADM, at least potentially, is such a powerful app that I would almost forgive Mr Sommers his many sins if there were any hope of ADM returning to the land of the living.
BTW though this is the first time I've posted here I've found this forum to be a terrific resource and recognise many names from other forums. You've been a big help guys so thanks a million.

Instead of accepting 'friendship' I asked a question: What Happened to ADM?
Haven't heard back yet & I'm not holding my breath.

Thank Jan for the amusing Facebook story..I am relieved to find a counter to my conspiracy theory -- that Eric has a new ECCO replacement and is using the alias "Pierre"....

Jan, this is kind of freaky, because I had been thinking about ADM in the last week, and wondering.
Is Eric still in China - though I can be rough at times, and God knows my sarcasm about Eric and his Vancouver partner knew few bounds, I have hoped that somehow he might be heard from again.
With less altruism, I have hoped that ADM might again be developed. From what I have seen of Neville's recent work with Surfulater, he could make a go of ADM. Just a thought.
One of the things that I most liked about ADM - and something others didn't like at all - was its appearance. It had a clean look. And it didn't look like a Microsoft Windows clone.
And on Eric's behalf I will say that when he was on his game he was incredibly responsive to ideas and suggestions. Somehow, apart from our speculations about lack of capital, I wonder whether he somehow got sidetracked while in China. My anger having long passed, I do wish him well.
Maybe there's some resolution to all of the ADM angst of the last few years.
Cheers,
Daly

Well there is a possible solution for those curious about Eric. Join Facebook and ask Eric to become your friend.

Possible, but not easy.
There's no FB member that looks like Eric that comes up on a search of his name.
There are lots of ppl with the same name who have no photograph.
One could seek to be friends with them all, but he would see who is seeking to be his friend and could easily ignore the request - as he has ignored attempts to communicate with him. As has his business partner Arne.
