Beat is a free, mininalist, open source screenwriting app for Mac.

It can take plugins and today I discovered a free outliner plugin for it called FToutliner, which lets you work in Acts, using an index car metaphor, in a kanban format (if desired)

The Beat/FToutliner document format is Fountain, a spinoff of Markdown specifically designed for screenplays, and used in apps like Highland, Slugline, Jotterpad and Fountainize (which reformats Google Docs files into screenplay format).
