OutlineEdit 3 is very pleasant to use. One thing that would be nice would be to create a multiparagraph note. When you hit return it drops back to outline mode, terminating the note.

Option-return (or the enter key on the large Mac keyboard) does a traditional enter, remaining in the note. It would be handier if there was a way to type normally.

But I'm whining. OE3 is very nice.

I don't have OE3 (I still have OE2) but you should be able to customize keyboard shortcuts for the app by clicking the App Shortcuts category in System Settings > Keyboard Shortcuts. Try swapping what Return and Option-Return do.

@satis: That's an interesting idea, definitely thinking about it! Maybe not as a standalone option, but about item creation behaviour in general.

Actually, I already do that for spreadsheets. I have a Keyboard Maestro mapping that's active for Apple Numbers if the file name ends with "-text".

One approach or the other will do the trick.
