In my workflow, Heptabase has replaced almost everything except email, for which I use Outlook plus NeoPro (which gives a much more powerful interface). The natural gap is in todos/planning/project management/calendar.
After looking at a large number of options, I have settled on Sunsama: https://www.sunsama.com/
It works from the web or a local client and gives the ability to plan and monitor work/personal on a daily basis, with weekly planning and review, outlook/google integration, etc. It is extremely easy to use and very powerful, with time blocking, auto-scheduling, timers, etc. The negative is that it costs $16/month if paid yearly, which increases to $20 if paid monthly. That is very expensive; however, for me it is fast become a game changer in terms of productivity, and my company will also foot the bill.
I highly recommend this to complement other information workflows, if you can justify the cost or have your employer pay. My list of “PIM tools” is now streamlined to: Heptabase, Outlook/NeoPro, Sunsama. Outlook is of course for email, Sunsama for planning and execution, and Heptabase for literally everything else (research, projects, notes, meetings, PDFs/annotations, knowledge, articles/books and notes, etc.)

Maybe a bit of a false alarm. It’s great for weekly planning, but has no long term processes (yearly, quarterly). I will likely wait until it integrates those features.
