This is a cool helpful hint for users of PersonalBrain, which I just discovered—although some of you may already have been aware of it.
If you want to build a database (i.e. “Brain”) with one item (i.e. “Thought”) for each day of the year, a really fast and easy method is to use the Diary Generator you can find at the Brainstorm web site: http://www.brainstormsw.com/download.html
This great little program allows you to create a Brainstorm file OR a text file with one line for each day of the year in an indented, hierarchical structure. Just make your selections (i.e. which year, and settings for date formats [extra hint: to keep things easily organized in the proper sort order in PersonalBrain, select the numerical formats for date and month with the date format of 2010/06/15]. Create the text file, open in a text processor, select and copy all, then paste into the Brain as an outline. And, voila, you get a perfect Day Book, with a Thought for each day organized by month. The whole process takes about as much time as it takes to read this message.
(It wouldn’t surprise me if someone already made this suggestion, so if you did, I’m sorry to be redundant .)
