New Microsoft Data-collecting webapp: Thumbtack

Looks really cool. I took a look at the little show that they have, and I think that if it does all of the stuff that it says it will, and without s major breakdown in throughput, it could be very nice to use. I am assuming that this is the brainchild of Ray Ozzie, because it is nothing like anything that came out when Bill G. was at the helm.

I use Devonthink on the desktop to do some of the same things, and despite the current popularity of ” Cloud Computing” I like to have stuff locally so that when the network connection dies, or is just not available, I can still have access to stuff that I saved.

Still, Thumbtack is worth a look.
