Thortspace: "3D Mind-mapping" (cross-platform)

What is a “thort”? Seems to be either a very rude term, or a “thought”.

I appreciate the endorsement on the landing page: “From the moment I saw Thortspace on my screen, I sensed excitement.”

Indeed. And then?

Seriously, it is an interesting concept and seems to work as advertised—sort of . A bit more accessible from a big-picture perspective than flat mind-map trees or even TheBrain. I played with the Mac AppStore version, which is full of glitches, bad layout, ugly labels, etc. The app seems to get in its own way.
