TheBrain v9 - Release 9.0.161 - 24th March 2017 - Reminders are back!

When I evaluated Thebrain some time ago I was put off by the fact that the only way to sync was through the company’s servers.
Really, all my information unencrypted somewhere in the US?
I have no secrets to hide but my privacy is worth more than the usage fee to me.
Has this policy changed?
