I just downloaded and installed the .deb file for the 64 bit version of Scrivener. That meant it was a one-click install on my Ubuntu box. This version is 1.7.2.3, and appears to be free until January 2016. This version was just releasedyesterday, July 22, 2014.

I’m about to start writing my second book (non-fiction), and am thinking either it’s Notecase Pro, or Scrivener. I like that Scrivener (at least in the Mac version, although I haven’t verified this yet with the Linux version (which lags behind the 2.0 Mac version) will compile to an epub.
The bundled tutorial is pretty good, but this is a complex platform. So far, though, so good.
