ThinkTank, MaxThink, and GrandView are not really great looking outliners, but I should could work FAST on them once I mastered the keystrokes. MaxThink is probably the most spartan-looking, but having a limited view of headings at one level serves the purpose of focusing on related objects.
I find that most of the Windows-based outliners serve more like word-processors rather than thought processors. I would much rather have a stable, blazingly fast outline processor that could later be ported into a Windows word processor if it needed to be of presentation quality.
Ninety-nine percent of my outlines were GrandView or MaxThink printed in
12-point Courierwith a simple heading and page numbers, but they served my needs perfectly.
