1. As I’ve said before, I think of the the current programs you mentioned as a book with a table of contents (the tree) that you can rearrange the chapters of.
2. TreePad 3 is now in beta. After being moribund for a long time, the author, Henk, is feverishly working on it and expects to have a retail (not free) version ready in April.
3. Jot+ 2.5 was just released and 3.0 will hopefully be with us later in the year. http://www.kingstairs.com
4. There are a couple of Russian firms producing similar programs.
5. None of the current programs I am aware of have the bells & whistles that GV did. Maxthink is under development. GoTo http://www.maxthink.net
