I have been searching for an outliner ever since using Ecco and was not aware of the others you've listed. I'd really like to see a powerful outliner plugin for Word and other major word processors, or if a standalone product, an applet like Ecco's shooter to transfer information to and from the outliner to other applications.
In the mean time I still use Ecco primarily just as an outliner.
Some of you may be very intrigued by a new product called The Brain at www.thebrain.com which is an outliner, sort of... its very different and claims to be the world's best way to organize... the twist is that not only can you organize your own notes but also contacts, files, web sites, etc.

That sounds like the current versions of Correlate and InfoSelect, and it sounds a bit like the 1980's Framework program. With that, each line in the outline could be a sentence, a WP document, a SS, or a DB. Kind of good for organizing giant progjects (like a textbook), but the disk files were huge.
