Hi Don,
Maxthink is currently in early beta test phase. You can follow the developments via http://www.maxthink.net. You can even participate in testing if you like. If you are/were a user of DOS Maxthink, I think you should!
The current version is stable enough to play with pleasure. If you team up now this is a good chance to master the basics first and grow with the addition of all the other features. For now you can’t print. Export to DOS Maxthink files should work within a week, I estimate.
Houdini for windows is a project that Neil Larson plans to start up after releasing the final first version of MaxThink for Windows. Take a look at the page “What’s new” on his site.
The current developments are very promising! Maxthink for Windows is a hell of a job, but Neil realy works hard on it. His planning is ambitious and for now I would say that if he mentions a date for a final first release, count one or to months on top of it. The most important thing is that it’s really going to show up this time, sooner or later. And it will be a killer application for those who know how to handle hierarchies.
Could you tell us about your experiences with Maxthink AND Houdini?
Ernest.
