If you are interested in Maxthink for windows, try http://www.maxthink.net

There is a beta version (actually it might be better called alpha version), but you would get the feel for the new Maxthink.

Hi there,

Thanks mightily for the tip on how to download the new maxthink outliner for windows `beta'. As a long-time (12 years or more), Maxthink for dos user, I've just tested out the new windows release this evening. From my perspective, it's useless at this stage of development for any practical work (at least on my system, it crashed frequently; didn't except text in lower level topics; various functions such as the web url and hard-drive file linking ability, are not yet working; etc.)

HOWEVER, the interface, and the promised functions, when fully operational, will, I think, constitute a killer outliner!

Just what the doctor ordered! And what many of us frequenting this website need.

Also, I don't want to be too hard on Neil Larson, the developer, here - as he told me recently that he was programming the whole thing himself. So my suggestion is: for serious work, stick to other products for the moment, but to see an important part of the future of outliners, check out the free maxthink beta-alpha at maxthink.net

Hi there,

A second build of the Maxthink for windows alpha version is available at www.maxthink.net. There are still many bugs and problems, but definite progress is evident in this new version,
and it beginning to move towards a state of practical usefullness.
Above all, the emergence of VERY elegant and powerful outline interface is now apparent.
