I started outlining with Grandview and loved it. When Symantec quit updating that product I switched to ECCO for its outlining function. I don't use ECCO for its other PIM features. I am frustrated by ECCO's limitations, i.e., no spell checker; you can't double space; no more upgrades, etc. Are there any good outliners out there for IBM compatible PC's? What outliner would you recommend?

NOTHING will replace GrandView!!! However if you are looking for a "standard" outliner (as opposed to a "tree" version, check out www.inspiration.com.
GV files translate pretty well into Inspiration files. If interested, I can post the conversion process again.

Hi there,
I tried Inspiration but prefer PC Outline for Windows - the newer version of a classic outline previously produced in a DOS version.
There's a free download accessable at http://www.download32.com/download.asp?ProgID=16688&TypeID=1
Finally, my associate Arne Hermann, owner of Synercom-EDI, and myself will be producing a `Knowledge Desktop' called ADM (Advanced Data Management). This product, which we have spent three years developing the models for, will be MUCH more powerful than any existing outliner or file manager for purposes of: outlining, organizaing; accessing; and sharing ALL your relationships to ALL information, whether consisting of your own outlines for projects, brainstorms, etc., and/or links to info on your hard-drive, Lan, or the web. We're currently seeking development partners to assist with programming and other tasks. Outline afficionados interested in possibly participating are welcome to write to us for details. ericsommer@visto.com
