Radio Userland as an outliner

A question to Dave Winer:

I'm wondering whether there is any prospect that you would be prepared to create a Windows program specifically for outlining - using the core of the Radio Userland program? If there was the addition of the ability to import and export common outliner file types, .RTF files with heading-level formatting and web pages with an outlining structure and Radio Userland could apply outliner-style numbering systems then I think it would be a really useful program for outlining.

However, given its complicated start up (trying to access the web etc.) and the lack of the functionality described above I think Radio Userland (as is) is unlikely to take off as an outliner.

Cheers, Philip

I tend to agree. One reason I don't use Outlook as a PIM is because it is also an email program, which slows it down considerably on older machines. I want a small, fast, dedicated outline processor rather than a big one that boasts some outlining features.

I still await MaxThink for Windows.
