Could someone help out with this problem?
Some of my MORE files (only larger ones with graphics) will not open, and in fact the application itself immediately quits with an Error of type 1 message. I suspect the size of the files is the problem (300K-600K).
I set the application memory partition to 5000K but this behaves in a funny way, too. The Get Info window always shows 5000K (both Minimum and Preferred size), but the About this computer window sometimes shows MORE as having 1.2M. In the lower left corner of the MORE document window itself, the Available Memory number varies, sometimes it shows something like 4567K, sometimes it drops to 200-300K.
MORE will quit with this error msg even if it was opened in the 5000K partition, and the first default blank document shows circa 4200K available memory. If I then open the 600K file with graphics in it, MORE quits.
Of course, MORE did allow me to create the 600K docu in the first place, with the graphics in it, but on subsequent occasions it refuses to open it.
Can MORE be set at all to operate in a high memory partition? If yes, what could be wrong in my case, since a 5000K partition ought to be more than enough to open a 500-600K file. If not, is the ìSuggestedî 1250K its maximum partition size, and I just have to use as few and as small images as possible?
Or is something else wrong here? Any ideas? TIA!!!
