Neil told me last week that the server for http://www.maxthink.com is no longer available to him, and that he is working furiously to get the Windows version of MaxThink prepared for all of us anxiously awaiting it. Thus, he is out of communication for a while (my guess is about a month).
I don’t know of a trial version of MaxThink. It is relatively cheap, and Neil is the type of guy who would probably refund your money if you decided you didn’t like it. If you are looking for an outliner that will manipulate topics (lines) in just about every way possible, you WILL like it. Its strength is not really formatting (font changes, subscripts, superscripts, etc. are not changeable). You can customize the spacing bewteen lines and paragraphs, and can change the lettering/numbering style.
