Good idea. ECCO is the best model of a PIM that works the way I think (may not be saying much!)

You mention using DDE as a inter-program communication - I would suggest you find any way but DDE - it is slow and has a tendency to be very hard to maintain reliable connections. Can you read/write the ECCO database files directly? I no longer have ECCO installed or any documentation - does it support OLE automation?
