This is a simpler solution, however there are some drawbacks. TeachText does not preserve the font and some other formatting of the original document. In addition, there is a size limit for documents opened in TeachText (32K?) and my documents are often larger than this.

You are correct the text styles are lost, however, the indentation remains. As for breaking the 32K barrier. I use Tex-Edit Plus, you must try it instead of SimpleText.

Let me know how you like PrintToPDF or similar utility once you have tried them.

I’ve used PrintToPDF. What better compliment can I say except that it seems to work as advertised. Now I only wish that it could compress the PDF files it creates.
