I see your point. I found I had the same problem with the date format.
But then I have the same problems with other programs as well. So, I rely heavily on keyboard shortcuts (in all programs I use).
Sending the date to a program like ConnectedText with a program like Authotkey is easy and consistent:
Send %A_YYYY%%A_mm%%A_dd% %a_Hour%%A_Min% Page
Even in a text editor, a date like this:
Friday, February 17, 2006
just takes typing “/td” (or whatever you want), if you use a macro program.
I agree with you: ‘At one point, I had a lot of time on my hands to learn a new formatting system, but now I just want to jot down notes, memos, or scribbles w/o having to think about “formatting.”’
That’s the reason why I use a shortkey/macro program, like AutoHotKey.
