Steve, you haven’t imagined the messages, they were there. In fact, Opera has retained in its cache one of your messages, which I opened in a separate window, so I’ll re-post it.

Until this is solved (no idea how) I will refrain from posting anything at this time of day. To explain: it is now 00:35, of the 18th here in Greece.

I have a suspicion that my own local time ahead of the system may cause some kind of conflict, perhaps occasionally re-setting the database.

In any case, even if this is an explanation, there are other factors at work too; I’ve posted messages at this time on previous occasions with no similar effect. And, as you said, this is the first time that there are no missing post numbers.
