Hi Derek.
>>setting up DOS with DESQview/X in order to run a whole suite of legacy software: Lotus Magellan, Lotus Agenda, Grandview, Papyrus, WordPerfect, etc. Only the thought of getting to grips with Qemm again stops me…
Funny thing. I just bought a copy of Wordperfect 5.1 for DOS to install on a Thinkpad 240x that I find I carry around more often than my heavier Powerbook.
But I did not think of installing Desqview - which in my eyes was one of the really genius pieces of software I ever used. I remember running Desqview on a 286 and later on my first Pentium and switching from Wordperfect 4.2 to GEM running Ventura Publisher 2 and Windows 3.1 running Paintbrush, Corel Draw 2.x or Micrografx Draw or another illustration tool. And it worked - the system crashed, maybe, once a week.
I didn¥t find Qemm such a pain (but I spent a lot of time finetuning Qemm and Desqview - I wrote a book and a number of articles on the software).
I think I try to find a copy of Desqview on Ebay :-)
