I don't know if anybody here is familiar with the Calypso mail client, currently unsupported freeware; I personally have been relying on it for more than six years.

The program that followed it, Courier 3.5, offers some additional functionality to the last version of Calypso, but not enough to justify my paying for it. Thankfully, Courier is now offered for free registration at http://www.rosecitysoftware.com/courier/

Rose City Software has apparently revived its interest in the program and they are looking for a C++ programmer to help them finish version 4.

I used Calypso for quite some time and it was great. I never understood why they closed their doors. Rose City don't see to be doing much. Its not that hard to find a good C++ programmer. I think its too late for them now. They might be better just to make it open source and see if they can build some enthusiasm that way.

I switched to The Bat! after Calypso. It is pretty good, but their documentation is poor and they keep adding features without fixing basic stuff. And the new features aren't documented so you really don't what they do. Nevertheless they are successful.

I'd realy like to switch to Thunderbird, but it doesn't have some capabilities I can't live without. I wish all the enthusiasm for Firefox would rub off a bit more on Thunderbird.
